Emergency Preparedness

Emergency Preparedness for Parents

Emergency Plan Reminder

Guerneville School District is preparing for the 2016-2017 school year.  One important area in which our district is focusing on is emergency preparedness in order to keep our students, families, and staff safe.  All district personnel receive annual training on Emergency Preparedness but in order to be fully prepared we need family support.  The areas of concern for our district are emergencies such as fires, earthquakes, or community emergencies that may require your child to remain at school until a parent, or other authorized adult, can safely sign him/her out.

Please review this information with your child, so that your family will know the proper procedures during an emergency.

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
(Natural disaster)

  1. Stay calm, all district staff has been trained for emergencies.
  2. Bring a photo ID (students will only be released to adults that are listed on his/her emergency card)
  3. Park your vehicle as far away from the school as possible as emergency vehicles may need close access
  4. Please do not go to your child’s classroom.  Find the “Student Release” area where trained school personnel will provide further instructions.

Thank you for helping us work together as a team to make sure everyone is safe!
