Welcome, Dana Pedersen, New Superintendent!

It is with great excitement and anticipation that the Board of Trustees announces we have entered into contract with Dana Pedersen for Superintendent.  Mrs. Pedersen comes to us with administrative experience in a smaller district like ours, Roseland Public Schools (K-12), as well as more recently Santa Rosa City Schools, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction K-6.  Mrs. Pedersen has ten years experience as a bilingual K-6 teacher, Educator in Residence at Sonoma State University, as well as nine years of educational leadership experience in Sonoma County.  In addition to her administrative credential,  she possesses both BCLAD Multiple Subject and Single Subject credentials, a Masters in Education, a BA in Mexican American Studies and is a  National Board Certified Teacher.

Mrs. Pedersen is a long-time West County resident and is bilingual in Spanish in addition to having many other skills and interests, such as gardening, crafting and all things STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).  She is also proud to serve on Cradle to Career in Sonoma county and invites all opportunities to work with fellow community partners, through collective impact efforts, to serve the deserving youth of Sonoma County.

She began in June consulting a few days in order to learn about us and become oriented.  She started her contracted position July 1st.   Please, as you are able, join us in welcoming her to our district!
